Running back Arian Foster, who missed the Indianapolis game because of a strained hamstring, returned to practice Wednesday and expects to start at Miami. Foster participated in every drill.
Running back Derrick Ward, who suffered a sprained ankle starting in place of Foster, didn’t practice. Ben Tate, who rushed for 116 yards on 24 carries, moves up a spot into the backup role. Expect the Texans to run a lot against the Dolphins. They’re 24-3 under Gary Kubiak when they run at least 30 times

Notes: Jacoby Jones is expected to start at receiver in place of Kevin Walter, whose MRI showed a badly bruised collarbone. Walter is expected to miss at least one game. Jones is more of a big-play receiver than Walter, who has better hands, is tougher and blocks with reckless abandon.
The Texans are visiting Miami, where they are 2-0. They’re 5-0 overall against the Dolphins. Over the last three seasons, the Texans have averaged 389.5 yards a game on the road, second to New Orleans (390.2). Quarterback Matt Schaub has been tremendous on the road during that period. He’s averaged an NFL-high 295.2 yards a game on the road. Saints quarterback Drew Brees is second (293.5).
Mario Williams’ two sacks against Indianapolis gives him 45 ½ dating back to the start of the 2007 season. He has 38.24 percent of the Texans’ sacks during that time. That’s the highest percentage in the NFL, nipping Atlanta defensive end John Abraham’s 38.21 percent (47 sacks).
