Madonna Bowers from the Ipswich Junior Rugby League is the winner of the 2011 Harvey Norman Women in League Achievement Award for a volunteer.
Madonna, who volunteers over 15 hours a week to the game of Rugby League, has been instrumental in changing the culture of Rugby League in Ipswich, ensuring females are recognised and encouraged to be involved in the game.
In addition to her work with the Ipswich Junior Rugby League, Madonna also sits on the Queensland Women’s Rugby League Board and helped launched this season, an Open Girls Competition in the Ipswich region.
