NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — A member of the famous The Flying Wallendas wants to walk across Niagara Falls on a tightrope, but first he must get the governor’s permission.
Two lawmakers have sent requests to Gov. Andrew Cuomo in an effort to OK Nik Wallenda’s plan.
If approved, the daredevil could attempt the crossing next spring or summer.
The feat could be a marketing bonanza.
“Niagara Falls can once again be the great city that it has been in the past, but its revitalization must be driven through tourism and economic development efforts that highlight the majesty and splendor of hosting one of the Seven Wonders of the World,” said state Sen. George Maziarz, who has been working to win the governor’s endorsement.
Details for this story were provided by the Niagara (N.Y.) Gazette.
