Ego wasn't the main problem on Monday night's "Dancing With the Stars" - confidence was.
Every season of the dancing competition is littered with minor crises and meltdowns (Kate Gosselin, anyone?) but judging by the contestants' breakdowns and tiffs in this second week, season 13 will be a rough one for some celebs.
Nancy Grace, for instance, admitted that she "shuts down" during rehearsals - which essentially equated to her saying "No" to poor partner Tristan every time he tried to get her to rehearse.
Does the woman not understand the point of "practice makes perfect"?
In the end, however, Grace garnered a fair score of 21 for her quickstep, keeping her toward the top of the pile, ahead of last week's scoreboard leaderChynna Phillipsand just behind crowd favoriteJ.R. Martinez.
"That was a bit top heavy at times," Bruno commented of her performance, referring to her embarassing live wardrobe malfunction.
Oh Bruno, you sly dog, you!
The flamboyant judge also likened low-scorer of the nightChaz Bono's quickstep to "watching a little bee walk with Princess Lea."
Bono, who was nursing weak joints during practice and even throughout the evening, pulled in a mere 17 because his dance "didn't move quickly enough," according to head judge Len.
Bono and partnerLacey Schwimmerlooked bummed by the news.
At the front of the pack, however, was talk show hostRicki Lake, whose exuberant jive landed her a solid 23 points for the night. Guess all those flicks (and not kicks!) paid off.
Rob Kardashianovercame his body image issues to perform an excited jive - "better than Kim!" Carrie Ann smiled.
Hope Solo, meanwhile, couldn't wrangle in her athletic kicks and ended up pulling in a comparatively low score for her rendition of the jive with partner Maks - oddly, just one point ahead of franticDavid Arquette.
The boy wonder nearly rivaledCarson Kressleyin enthusiasm, but the "Queer Eye" host still managed to out-color everyone with his glittery frames and bravado.
"You know, the worst dancers are the most fun to watch," Len grinned.
"It's likePee Wee Hermangoes to the prom," Bruno chimed in, which only made Kressley beam wider.
At least there's one contestant who doesn't have self-esteem issues.
