Unofficial Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Build For Samsung Galaxy S Now Available For Download

, a smartphone that is manufactured by Samsung and which will be released on store shelves by the end of the next month or to be more specific,on November 16th in the UK.

Before the latest version of Android becomes officially available on the market, we’re spoiled with a bunch of homebrew ROMs that can already be found on the internetfor the Google Nexus Samong others. Well, Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 has now been successfully ported to the Samsung Galaxy S, probably the best-selling Android smartphone in the world, even though the company has not yet released any statements whether an official build is on its way.

The custom ICS 4.0 ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S has been developed by galnet and lttldvl, the same pair behind MIUI, a very popular custom user interface which is available for a number of Android devices. The homebrew UI looks pretty decent and these guys have already proven that they’re talented, and in order to show off their skills, they’ve created an alpha build over the weekend as they’ve decided to take a break from MIUI.

Users should be aware that the MIUI devs haven’t released a build for daily usage consisting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the Samsung Galaxy S for the moment. This is still in the alpha stage and it’s going to take a few more days, maybe weeks, before a working ROM will become available for download. The build is under testing because a lot of stuff doesn’t work. Also you should be aware that there are few chances for ICS 4.0 to be officially released on the original SGS by the end of the year so you should stay tuned for early next year.

Check out the picture above which shows a Samsung Galaxy S running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Also, remember to stay tuned as we’re going to let you know as soon as galnet and lttldvl are going to release a working build into the wild for your downloading pleasure. However, if you want to help the guys and test the build, then you can download Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the Samsung Galaxy Sright here.

Let us know if you downloaded the alpha build and if you cannot wait to get your hands on a stable ICS 4.0 build!
