Lady Gaga learns Sanskrit - The Times of India

Lady Gaga seems to truly be following in Madonna's footsteps. The "Born This Way" singer is showing a keen interest in learning Sanskrit, just like Madonna, who sang an entire song called "Shanti/Ashtangi" in the language on the "Ray of Light album".

Gaga's interest in Sanskrit developed when she heard about the Indian language during one of her yoga sessions. Now she's keen to read books on it and learn to speak a couple of lines as well.

A source reveals, "Gaga is definitely influenced by Indian culture and the sounds. She got a taste of it when she collaborated with Salim-Suleiman on the "Born this Way" remix. During their interactions, Gaga was eager to know about Indian influences on Western artistes." Even though she doesn't have a Sanskrit teacher yet, Gaga is definitely curious to read up and learn more about the language. She has yet to start work on new material, but she's keen on using Sanskrit influences in her up coming album."
