Lestar Jean has been thought of as a sleeper throughout the 2011 NFL Draft process, and he was enough of a sleeper that he didn’t even get drafted, but he was snagged up quickly by the Houston Texans, where he is quickly making a name for himself.
The 6’3″ 211 pound playmaker had a very good debut for the Texans on Monday Night Football against the New York Jets, and caught what appeared to be the game-winning touchdown pass, a play that was reviewed and deemed short of the goal-line, but a nice play nonetheless.
Right now, Jean is competing with fellow undrafted rookies Terrance Tolliver and Jeff Maehl as well as former Pittsburgh Panther Dorin Dickerson for the number four receiver spot on the Texans behind Andre Johnson, Kevin Walter, and Jacoby Jones. According to head coach Gary Kubiak, he is “tough to handle” and it looks right now like he could not only make this Texans team but possibly crack the rotation.
