HANFORD — Hanford’s annual Christmas parade will light up downtown Hanford Friday.
This year’s theme is “Christmas Around the World.” A sweepstakes prize of $100 will be awarded to participants whose float has the best theme, with $150 going to the float with the best use of Christmas lights. The recipient of the Agnes Teixiera Memorial Sweepstakes Award will also receive $150. There is no fee to enter.
Besides the parade, which begins at 6 p.m., the event will include a holiday movie earlier in the day. The chamber is also sponsoring a kids’ coloring contest and home- and business-decorating contests.This year’s holiday movie is “Cars 2.” It will be shown at 1 p.m. Nov. 25 at the Hanford Fox Theatre. The entry fee is two canned food items to benefit the Salvation Army Pantry.
