G irls who want a new best friend who likes to chat and dance to music, but won’t reveal secrets and never argues will adore the lovable quartet of Fijit Friends ($44.99).
These brightly colored interactive gadgets – a small part doll and a large part robot – make a perfect play companion. They engage in conversation (just as long as one of 30 scripted words are spoken to them) and will get jiggy when music is played. When bedtime rolls around, right on cue they’ll doze off for the evening.
There are four different Fijit Friends, the purple Willa, pink Serafina, blue Logan and green Sage. While they each sport unique ears – Sages are leaves – all are made with a squishable skin that bends and moves as the 10-inch tall figure wiggles and bends.
Various points on the belly and head will trigger some different modes, as will a child’s clearly-spoken phrases. ‘Let’s Dance,’ will cause the figure to move and grove while playing music. Want your spirits lifted? Just ask Sage to tell you a joke. She’ll do the rest.
