NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma School of Music Jazz Bands will present a “diva”-themed concert at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Sharp Concert Hall at Catlett Music Center , 500 W Boyd St. The concert, under the direction of Jay Wilkinson , will feature student vocalists Kate Dinsmore and Bola Ibidapo and include music from classic swing to modern. Tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for students, faculty, staff and senior adults.
NORMAN — Alec Soth , an internationally recognized editorial and fine arts photographer, will give a free public lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium of the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art , 555 Elm Ave. A reception will follow. The artist, whose visit is sponsored by the University of Oklahoma School of Art and Art History, also will review student work and visit photography classes. Soth is based in Minneapolis , and his work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
