Madonna has reportedly beaten off competition from Lady Gaga to perform at next year's Super Bowl half-time show.
The 'Like A Virgin' star, who is currently concentrating on her film career with her new film 'W.E.', is set to take to the stage for the 2012 event.
Lady Gaga was originally in the running for the prestigious slot, which was last year filled by the Black Eyed Peas, but now organisers have settled on Madonna, who recently revealed that she will be cracking on with her new album shortly.
A source told The Mirror: "When Madonna heard Gaga was in the frame, she knew she had to step up her efforts."
They also added: "She is going to deliver the kind of show never before seen in NFL history."
