'Sweet Home Alabama' Season 2, Episode 2 recap: October 27, 2011 - Scottsdale TV | Examiner.com

Tribble Reese and Sweet Home Alabama are back, and fans are already picking their favorites. Thursday night brought Episode 2 (airing on CMT, channel 49 on Cox in Scottsdale), and things started off down and dirty. By the end of the episode four girls would be sent home, and the ladies were scrambling to make an impression on Tribble. Who charmed him and who went home?

As Sweet Home Alabama, Episode 2 started out, the rain was pouring and the girls all headed out to Alligator Alley with Tribble. Several of the city girls were clearly out of their element, with Jon Gosselin ex Hailey Glassman stating that she had never been in the mud, ever, even as a little girl. Tribble admitted he was a bit terrified of the gators at first, and most of the girls were squealing. Next a dead pig was fed to the alligator, and several of the gals were quite disgusted. Jessica, however, jumped right in and Tribble certainly noticed.

Tribble and Tristan Smith got some one-on-one time, where she got to grab some baby gators. Tribble thinks she's a knock-out and very sweet, and he is clearly a bit smitten. She opened up a bit and told Reese that her father passed away recently, and he was touched that she shared that with him. Tribble asked Tristan if he could kiss her, and she gets the first kiss of the season. She said she had never been kissed in the rain before, and it may be the best kiss she's ever had.

Next, Tribble told the ladies he would be joining them for one big group dinner. The girls all started working on ideas, and Mandy Sanders decided she and Paige Duke should go hunting to get a deer to make for dinner. Of course vegan Erin Stack made it known that she was not pleased by this development, and the other girls certainly noticed. Things got quite heated, and Erin walked out of the house steaming.

At 3:15 the next morning, Mandy and Paige got ready to head out on their hunting adventure. Mandy got the shot, and the ladies were excited to be bringing supper home to the rest of the group. The group all met up at a local culinary school to put their dishes together, then they would sit down for one big group meal. The country girls all had recipes in mind, while most of the city girls seemed pretty clueless. Tribble quipped that he had never seen so many high heels in the kitchen as he walked through to visit with the city girls.

Ashley Ann Vickers was making a red velvet cake, and Tribble said that is his favorite and his mom's specialty. Mandy and Paige walked in with the antlers from their hunt, and Tribble was stunned and impressed. Erin was disgusted by the deer antlers in the kitchen, and she shared her vegan recipe with Tribble in hopes he would be open-minded enough to embrace her choices. Kristina Kraus ordered sushi to be brought in, rather than cook, which was oh-so-OC-licious of her.

Tribble asked Jacqueline to go on a one-on-one date with him, and she blushed as she accepted. They enjoyed an evening outside in front of a fireplace with glasses of wine as they got to know one another. Tribble likes Jackie's “big city sophistication,” and she seems to appreciate his southern country gentleman charm. The two really connected, and shared a nice kiss. He says he felt an instant connection to her, and she said her heart was fluttering. While many viewers may not have pegged these two as being a match, there seems to be some potential there.

When Jackie returned to the house, several of the girls had some jealousy, and Jackie tried to keep the details of her date private. She does think that she's the first girl that kissed Tribble, however, which may lead to some interesting feelings later on if she discovers that wasn't the case. Tristan was left feeling a bit insecure, worrying that the connection she felt with Tribble isn't as unique as she thought.

Next, Tribble Reese needs to send four ladies home. Boyd came a-callin', and Cassie Rupp was the first to get called in to see Tribble. She had worried throughout the episode that she wasn't getting a chance to connect with Tribble. He told her that initially she stood out, but then she seemed to disappear. Reese asked what her intentions were, as he didn't think she was doing her best to take advantage of the opportunity. She said she 100% is there for the right reasons, and she hopes he keeps her around. He says he definitely still wants her around, so she gets another chance to step up and make an impression.

City girls Colleen Aldrich, Cassie Cardelle and Chiara Strzesiewski were brought in next, and he admitted he didn't think it was meant to be with any of them. In one fell swoop, all three are sent home. Jessica Newsom was called in next, and Tribble told her that while he loves that she's a Texas firecracker and a true country woman, he doesn't think he can keep up with her. With that, the field of ladies is whittled down to 16, with the scales tipping just slightly in favor of the country girls.
