CINCINNATI - The first-ever teachers' strike at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College in Clifton is now over as 200 unionized teachers returned to their classrooms Friday morning.
The teachers gathered and all walked into the campus' main building at 7:30 a.m. Friday morning, ending their one-week strike over pay and workload issues.

Each of the teachers carried red roses with them to symbolize union solidarity. They left them in two vases in the main reception area at the college.

As they entered the school's main building, Cincinnati State President Dr. O'dell Owens met them, shaking their hands and welcoming them back.
Owens was inaugurated as the college's fifth president last Friday, the same day as the teacher's strike started.
Owens says he has high hopes that the the union and the school's trustees will be able to reach a contract settlement soon.
There have not been any contract talks during the strike and there is no word on whether any new discussions have been scheduled.
