On the Road Again: Roger Daltrey

Going mobile, going solo: On his upcoming solo tour, The Who frontman Roger Daltrey will perform the 1969 rock opera Tommy in its entirety, something he says he never did with the band. "The Who's version of Tommy onstage was kind of cut down a bit," says Daltrey, 67. However, with a five-piece band that includes Simon Townshend, brother of The Who's Pete Townshend , on guitar, "we can do all the harmonies, all the little details that are on the record that The Who used to have to neglect because of our instrumental limitations." The North American Tommy tour kicks off Tuesday at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Fla., and ends Nov. 2 in Winnipeg, Canada.
