Francisco Cordero recorded his 322nd career save Friday in the Reds' 4-1 win over the Colorado Rockies.
With the save, he moved into 13th place alone on the all-time list. He's been moving up on an almost daily basis all year.
But this one was special because he moved past Jose Mesa. Cordero now leads all pitchers from the Dominican Republic.
"It's a big one," Cordero said. "It was an exciting moment -- not only for me but a lot of people who have been following me. Family, friends, everybody. Now I can relax a little not and not think about it.
"There's been a lot of talk going on. One of my sisters called and said they've got the fridge ready. Everything was ready for tonight. There's a celebration going on right now."

Cordero worked a perfect ninth for the save. It was 19th time this season he's had a "perfect" save. He's second in major to Mariano Rivera in that category.
Cordero has converted 15 consecutive save opportunities.

--LF Yonder Alonso has played well defensively recently, but Reds manager Dusty Baker did not start him in Coors Field Friday. "It ain't fair to him," Baker said. "It's not fair to who's pitching. You need speed here in this outfield. This is the biggest outfield in the world. This is a tough place to play the outfield. You need your best outfielders if you expect to win here. It's a huge outfield."
--SS Paul Janish singled in a run in the four-run sixth. It was Janish's first RBI since June 24.
--RHP Homer Bailey went 7 2/3 innings and allowed one run on six hits. He walked one and struck out six. He recorded his first win since Aug. 13.
--LF Dave Sappelt doubled in the first inning to extend his hitting streak to seven games. He's 9-for-25 during the streak.
--2B Brandon Phillips went 1-for-3 with a walk and a hit by pitch to extend his hitting streak to eight games. His average sits at .298. He's trying to become the first Reds second baseman to hit .300 since Brett Boone hit .318 in 1994.
BY THE NUMBERS: 10 -- That's how many the Reds had lost in a row at Coors Field before Friday's win.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "He had his slider working. He had a good fastball. He had good command. He was dealing tonight. From the opening pitch, he was 93, 94 miles per hour, which we haven't seen much. But we know it's there. He had good tempo." -- Reds manager Dusty Baker on Homer Bailey's outing
