I love giving handmade gifts.
And since I can't make them myself -- absolutely no artistic talent -- ,I buy them from people can.
Which is why I'm happy to report the always festive annual Potters Market takes place Dec. 2-4 in Madison Heights. (Yes, I've bought many gifts here over the years.)
Expect almost 40,000 pieces of pottery -- ornaments, jewelry, mugs, vases, plates, bird baths, ceramic framed mirrors, everything you can think of -- from 135 artists. Prices start at about $5. Admission is free; strollers are not permitted..
(A preview sale of the Potters Market takes place Thursday, December 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission to tthat preview is $10.)
Location: UF & CW (United Food and Commercial Workers) Union Hall at 876 Horace Brown Drive, 1 block south of Thirteen Mile, between I -75 and John R.
