BLOTTER: Police reports published Nov. 30, 2011

NIAGARA FALLS — Police are investigating a robbery in the 1500 block of Pine Avenue. A cashier at a convenience store told officers a male suspect entered her business at 7:54 p.m. Saturday, walked up to the cash register with a bag of potato chips and handed her a note that read, “Give me the money. I have a gun.” The suspect also demanded lottery tickets. The cashier gave the man an undetermined amount of cash in a plastic bag and he ran from the store.

• BURGLARY : Officers are looking into a burglary in the 1600 block of Niagara Avenue. A 42-year-old woman told police that sometime between 3 and 9 p.m. Saturday, someone broke into her home by crawling through a kitchen window. The victim said a 24-inch TV, a 32-inch TV, a 40-inch TV, a rented 46-inch TV, a PlayStation game system, a Nintendo game system, and about $100 worth of Christmas presents were taken.

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after a shoplifting incident at a store in the 8000 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard. Bryan E. Thomas, 43, 5633 Charles Ave. Apt. 1, was charged with petit larceny, A store employee said they saw Thomas in the store at 2 p.m. Sunday and watched him take a knee brace out of a box and attempt to put it on his knee. He also had a box of Stacker pills and razor in his possession.

• THEFT: Police are investigating a vehicle break-in in a parking lot in the 700 block of Builders Way. A 42-year-old man told officers that sometime between 4:15 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. Monday, someone broke into his 2002 Ford Excursion by unknown means. The victim said the dashboard of the vehicle had been pulled off and a GPS system, an iPod, a Panasonic camera, a Nintendo DS game systems and games, a pair of sunglasses and $50 were taken.

• BURGLARY : Officers are looking into a burglary in the 3800 block of Deveaux Street. A 31-year-old man told police that sometime between 2 p.m. Sunday and 2:47 a.m. Monday, someone broke into his home by cutting through a window screen. The victim said a computer, a PlayStation3 game system, a camera and some jewelry were taken.

• THEFT : Police are investigating an SUV break-in in the 1300 block of Pierce Avenue. A 46-year-old man told officers that sometime between 9:30 p.m. Sunday and 5:30 a.m. Monday, someone broke into his 2004 Ford Explorer by smashing a driver’s side window. The victim said the vehicle’s stereo system was taken.

• BURGLARY : Officers are looking into a burglary in the 3600 block of Highland Avenue. A factory owner told police that sometime between 4 p.m. Sunday and noon Monday, someone broke into his building and stole $4,000 worth of heavy duty copper wire. The factory was entered through a broken window that had not been repaired from a previous burglary.
